Andrea Baronchelli is a Reader in Mathematics at City University of London, a fellow at the ISI Foundation in Turin, and a research fellow at the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies. Prior to joining City in August 2013, he was at Northeastern University and at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona. He received his BS and MS in Theoretical Physics from the Sapienza University of Rome and his PhD in Physics from the same university. Andrea is an Associate Editor at EPJ Data Science, PLoS ONE and Frontiers in Blockchain. His research on social networks and collective dynamics has appeared in a wide range of journals, from Science, PNAS and Nature Human Behaviour to Physical Review Letters and Trends in Cognitive Science, and has been recognised by the 2019 German Physical Society Young Scientist Award for Socio and Econophysics. In London, he organises Data Natives and is the co-organiser of Databeers London and of the London Computational Social Science Initiative.
