eBay Express Closure – FAQs

  • Seller FAQs

  • Buyer FAQs

Based on feedback from our buyers and sellers, we’ve taken the decision to close eBay Express in the UK (www.ebayexpress.co.uk), and focus our efforts on the main eBay.co.uk site.

Many of the innovations pioneered on eBay Express have been integrated into the main site, helping us bring more buyers to our sellers and providing buyers with a better experience.

eBay Express sellers have always been required to offer excellent levels of customer service. Recent changes on the main eBay.co.uk website mean sellers with a great track record should now enjoy better visibility and traffic.

  • What will happen to my eBay Fixed Price and/or Shop Inventory listings which currently appear on both eBay and eBay Express?
    • These listings will be removed from eBay Express but remain active on eBay.co.uk.
  • What will happen to any listings I have on eBay Express that I listed using the Express-only listing format?
    • Express-only listings will be ended by eBay when we retire eBay Express. Any appropriate listing credits will be issued to you – you’ll see them on your seller invoice. The ended listings will be displayed in the Unsold Items section of My eBay.
  • What will happen to Express-only listings scheduled to go live after eBay Express is retired?
    • Once eBay has retired eBay Express, any scheduled Express-only listings will be moved to the Unsold Items section of My eBay. Fees will not be charged for these listings.
  • What will happen if I accidentally relist an Express-only listing after eBay Express is retired?
    • Once we’ve retired eBay Express it won’t be possible to relist items using the Express-only listing format. This is also true of saved Express-only templates and Selling Manager Pro Express-only inventory items. You’ll be able to relist items using any other listing formats you have access to.
  • I normally list using Turbo Lister or File Exchange. Will these tools stop supporting the Express-only listing format?
    • If you try to list an item using the Express-only listing format after eBay Express has been retired, you’ll see an error message. If you update Turbo Lister after eBay Express has been retired, the Express-only format option should disappear.
  • I use third-party listing software (e.g. ChannelAdvisor, MarketWorks etc). What will happen to the items I’ve listed using the Express-only listing format?
    • If you try to list an item using the Express-only listing format after eBay Express has been retired, you’ll see an error message. eBay listings in any other listing format shouldn’t be affected. The third-party should provide any necessary updates to your listing software.
  • I have Selling Manager Pro Inventory Automation rules established on my Express-only listing format inventory. What will happen to these listings?
    • Active Express-only listings will be automatically ended upon retirement of eBay Express. Any automation rules and unlisted inventory will remain in the Inventory section of Selling Manager Pro in an inactive state. To relist these items, change their listing format and reactivate the rules.
  • Will I still able to access information about my buyers (address, etc) after eBay Express is retired?
    • Yes. You can access information about your eBay Express sales during the last 60 days in My eBay. One way of doing this is to go to the Sold section of My eBay, find the order you want to know more about, and to use the drop down arrow next to the order to view the order details.
